Education And Business Summit

The Education and Business Summit is the only targeted event for all Career and Technical Education teachers in South Carolina. Career and Technical Education teachers receive a majority of their teaching renewal credits at this crucial event.

“We are virtual again this year – luckily with a lot more time to plan but we will definitely be using Sched again. It just makes life so much easier for us!”

– Jakki Wiseman, Education Associate Professional Development, Education and Business Summit

The event organizers transformed this 900 person event from an in-person event to a fully virtual event in just six weeks. Originally planning to use Sched as a supplement to the printed paper program, it quickly became the tool for everything when the event went virtual.

“It housed the schedule, presentation descriptions, along with links to the Zoom presentations and links to the Google forms that we used to track attendance. It truly became the entire hub for the conference.”

Two ways EBS continues to use Sched after the event is over

1. Uploading session resources for attendees to refer to long after the event’s over.

“Another great feature is that the presenters were all able to upload their slides and handouts ahead of time and they are still housed on the conference website. People can easily go back to last year’s site to find the resources they learned about.”

2. Letting the data speak for itself and using attendance reports to inform programming for future events.

“The feedback after the conference about the number of attendees and sessions attended was great information to use when planning other professional development sessions this year.”

Handling last-minute changes with ease

Updates, schedule changes and announcements inevitably come up during events. Messaging through Sched makes it simple to keep everyone on the loop.

“When things changed at the last minute – as they always do, it was so easy to send out messages and updates to presenters, participants or everyone.”

– Jakki Wiseman, Education Associate Professional Development, Education and Business Summit
